Helen Angela Owens was a single mother who gave her all to embrace life, stability, growth, and low. She embraced the “highs” in life with laughter and smiles, while enduring the “lows” with strength and determination. A single parent of two young men, she pursued life for opportunities, growth, and love. She was a fighter and a leader.
Helen passes away on February 12th, 2014. The Helen A. Owens Award for Integrity and Humility honors a mother who embodies the strength to embrace life, lead by example, and achieve extraordinary things for our community.
